<i><b>“Dear Teachers: I am so lucky.”</b></i> - Glory Abraham, Age 10<br>
Glory Abraham is a little girl growing up in Arusha, Tanzania. She studies hard and has emerged as a clear leader in her fifth grade class, a class that late last year took Tanzania’s national exams for the first time and scored <a href="http://epicchange.org/blog/2009/01/30/1/">#1 in their district</a>. <img src='http://static3.shopify.com/s/files/1/0021/9422/files/glory_retouched_compressed.jpg?1233097617' align="right" width=200 alt='' /> Glory has been raised for years by her sister, aunt and grandmother, switching houses intermittently when the situation becomes too crowded or uncomfortable. She currently lives with her sisters in a house made of mud and sticks that has a few banana trees in front where their outhouse is located and both their parents are buried. Glory wants to become a teacher, and perhaps the reason is clear. When asked what she was most grateful for, she said <b><i>“I am thankful for my teachers who teach me and understand.”</b></i><br>
